Tin Building

The Tin Building is operated by renowned celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. It functions as a massive culinary marketplace under the banner of "The Tin Building by Jean-Georges." It is part of the larger redevelopment effort of the historic South Street Seaport by the Howard Hughes Corporation.

The sprawling food hall officially reopened in 2022 following years of delays and a massive reconstruction. The original 1907 historic structure was literally picked up and moved 33 feet away from the East River as part of the site's resiliency upgrades. The reconstruction modernized the facility while preserving its historic facade.

Visitors can shop at various high-end grocery counters, grab food from multiple fast-casual vendors, and eat at several full-service restaurants. It features a vast array of international foods, fresh seafood bars, an extensive spice market, and dedicated areas for pastry and chocolate. It is designed to be an immersive, all-day culinary destination.

The building is located in the South Street Seaport historic district in Lower Manhattan, situated directly on the waterfront. It sits beneath the elevated FDR Drive and offers visitors scenic views of the Brooklyn Bridge. It is easily accessible from the Financial District.
