Did the Toriko anime finish the manga's story or end early?

The anime ended in 2014 at 147 episodes, well before Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's manga concluded in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016. The manga ran for 43 volumes, and the anime only adapted roughly the first two-thirds of the total story, leaving the final arcs like the Gourmet World saga unadapted.

What is the Toriko x One Piece crossover episode and do I need to watch it?

There were actually multiple crossover episodes between Toriko and One Piece, both animated by Toei Animation. The most notable is the 2013 "Dream 9" three-way crossover special featuring Toriko, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z, which is a standalone celebration special and not required viewing for the main Toriko storyline.

Why did Toriko never get as popular as One Piece or Naruto despite being in Shonen Jump?

Toriko was part of Shonen Jump's post-Naruto push alongside Bleach and others, but it never matched the cultural penetration of One Piece. The anime's more niche focus on food-themed worldbuilding and battle shonen, combined with the manga ending in 2016 without a long-running anime extension, limited its international fanbase.
