description Tretaspis Overview

Tretaspis is an extinct genus of trinucleid trilobites from the Ordovician Period. Its broad cephalon carries a distinctive marginal fringe marked by concentric rows of pits, while the eyes are greatly reduced or absent, reflecting the specialized morphology of trinucleid trilobites. Fossils are known from marine shelf deposits in parts of Europe and North Africa.
