Trethevy Quoit

description Trethevy Quoit Overview

Trethevy Quoit is a Neolithic portal dolmen near St Cleer on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, England. Five upright stones support a large capstone weighing about 20 tonnes, which now slopes sharply because one supporting stone has collapsed. A small apparently artificial hole occurs near the capstone's highest corner, and the monument preserves traces of the low mound that once surrounded its burial chamber.
