Trivium - Ascendancy

Trivium released *Ascendancy* in 2005 through Roadrunner Records. It served as their second studio album, following their 2003 debut *Ember to Inferno*. This specific release is widely credited with launching them into the mainstream metal scene.

The album is widely considered a landmark mid-2000s metalcore record that heavily incorporates thrash metal elements. *Ascendancy* was produced by Jason Suecof and Trivium's frontman, Matt Heafy. The recording process took place at Audiohammer Studios in Florida. Suecof's production gave the album a sharp, aggressive edge that highlighted the band's technical guitar riffing.
