Upsilon Andromedae b is a hot Jupiter exoplanet discovered in 1996 orbiting the F-type main-sequence star Upsilon Andromedae A, located approximately 44 light-years from Earth. It was the first planet detected in this system, which subsequently became the first confirmed multi-planet system discovered around a sun-like star. With an orbital period of roughly 4.6 days, the planet orbits very close to its host star at a distance of about 0.06 astronomical units. It has a minimum mass of approximately 0.69 times that of Jupiter.
