Vans Old Skool (Black)

The upper of the standard black Vans Old Skool is constructed from a combination of durable canvas and suede, not full-grain leather. However, Vans does produce a specific 'Leather' edition of the Old Skool if you are looking for genuine animal hide. You can check the product tag to ensure you are buying the synthetic or leather variation.

Because the Old Skool features vulcanized rubber soles and stiff canvas uppers, they typically take about one to two weeks of regular skating to break in. The iconic waffle outsole will feel very stiff and flat right out of the box. Once the materials soften and mold to your feet, they provide excellent board feel for tricks.

Vans Old Skool sneakers generally run true to size but are known to have a very narrow toe box compared to other skate shoes like DC or Etnies.
