Wake Forest University

Wake Forest University is a historic private institution located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It originally moved its campus from its namesake town of Wake Forest to Winston-Salem in 1956. The university is widely recognized for its beautiful Georgian-style architecture.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), which is part of NCAA Division I. This places them in highly competitive leagues for sports like football and basketball. They are notably the smallest school in terms of enrollment to play in a Power Five conference.

The university was originally established in 1834 as a manual labor institute for young men. It has since grown into a prominent liberal arts university with significant research activities. Its long history makes it one of the older institutions of higher learning in the American South.
