Watermelon Man

Watermelon Man is a 1970 American satirical comedy directed by Melvin Van Peebles and starring Godfrey Cambridge. Cambridge plays Jeff Gerber, a prejudiced white insurance salesman who awakens one morning to find that he has become Black, forcing him to confront discrimination from his family, neighbors, and colleagues. The film uses an identity reversal to examine American racism, social hypocrisy, and the limits of superficial tolerance.
