Wendelstein Observatory is a research and teaching facility operated by Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in the Bavarian Alps. It stands at an elevation of about 1,840 metres and houses a 2.1-metre Fraunhofer telescope, which entered operation in 2012, as well as a remotely controlled 43-centimetre telescope installed in 2016. The observatory supports astronomical research, student projects, and public outreach.
