Whatever It Takes is a 2000 American romantic comedy set around high-school students. Ryan Woodman, played by Shane West, wants to date Ashley, while Ashley’s cousin Chris Campbell, played by James Franco, pursues Ryan’s friend Maggie; the two boys exchange advice and use mistaken identities to try to reach prom with the person they want.
