The white-ribbon eel is an elongated marine fish of the moray eel family, Muraenidae, found in the Indo-Pacific region. Its narrow body and contrasting black-and-white coloration give it the appearance described by its common name. Like other morays, it is associated with reef and rocky habitats, where it spends much of its time in crevices and uses its jaws to capture passing prey.
