The Woodland Skipper (Ochlodes sylvanoides) is a butterfly in the skipper family, Hesperiidae, found in western North America from British Columbia and the western United States into northern Mexico. Adults have tawny or orange upper wings with dark borders; males usually show a dark scent mark on the forewing. The species uses grasses as larval host plants and occurs in habitats that include woodlands, gardens, grasslands, and other areas with suitable vegetation.
