Yamunotri Temple, situated at an elevation of 3,293 meters in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and forms part of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit in the Indian Himalayas. The original temple was constructed by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the 19th century, though it has undergone several renovations after earthquake damage. Pilgrims typically visit between May and October, as the temple remains closed during winter due to heavy snowfall, and the site features thermal springs called Surya Kund where devotees prepare rice and potatoes as offerings.
