Marne River

description Marne River Overview

The Marne is a river in northern France and a right-bank tributary of the Seine, which it joins near Paris. It rises on the Langres Plateau and runs for roughly 525 kilometres through areas including Champagne before reaching the Paris region. The river is historically associated with the First and Second Battles of the Marne in 1914 and 1918, two major operations on the Western Front during the First World War.
