Sherburne Wesley Burnham (1838–1921) was an American astronomer who spent much of his career at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. He was one of the most prolific visual observers of double and binary stars, discovering over a thousand new pairs and compiling the two-volume General Catalogue of Double Stars. His meticulous observations set a standard for double-star astronomy.
