description Blue Antimora Overview
Antimora rostrata, commonly known as the blue antimora or longfin codling, is a species of morid cod in the family Moridae found in deep waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans. Adults typically inhabit depths of roughly three hundred fifty to three thousand meters along continental slopes and rises, making it one of the more abundant benthopelagic fishes of the bathyal zone. The species has an elongated body, a pointed snout, and dark bluish coloration. It feeds on benthic invertebrates and smaller fish and is encountered as bycatch in deep-water trawl fisheries.
