Bonnie - Perfect Performance Marionette

Performance-oriented marionettes commonly use between 8 and 12 strings attached to a wooden or aircraft-plywood control bar, allowing independent manipulation of the head, hands, knees, and sometimes jaw. The exact count depends on the figure's articulation and the puppeteer's style.

Bonnie is designed with fully articulated joints and responsive stringing that allow fine, expressive manipulation from a control bar above. Toy marionettes typically use simpler rigging with fewer strings and semi-rigid components that limit the range of realistic movement.

Performance marionette control bars are typically crafted from lightweight wood such as aircraft plywood or balsa, chosen for its balance of strength and low weight. Some modern performance figures also use carbon fiber bars for similar reasons.

Bonnie is designed as a performance-grade figure, so it is best suited for puppeteers with some prior string-manipulation experience. Beginners can certainly learn on it, but the multi-string articulated system is more demanding than simpler entry-level marionettes.
