The Plain Janes is a young adult graphic novel written by Cecil Castellucci and illustrated by Jim Rugg. It was published in 2007 as one of the early books from DC Comics' Minx imprint. The story follows Jane, a teenager who moves from Metro City to the suburbs and forms a secret art group with three other girls. Calling themselves P.L.A.I.N., the group uses public art projects to respond to school and community life.
