The Mislaid Magician or Ten Years After

It is a 2006 epistolary fantasy novel by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer. The story is told through written correspondence in an alternate nineteenth-century setting.

It is the third book in the Cecelia and Kate series. The reading order begins with Sorcery and Cecelia, continues with The Grand Tour, and then reaches The Mislaid Magician.

Reading Sorcery and Cecelia first gives the characters and magical society their original introduction. The Mislaid Magician follows that book and The Grand Tour, so reading the trilogy in publication order provides the clearest continuity.
