Arianna Huffington

AOL acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 for approximately $315 million. Arianna Huffington was named president and editor-in-chief of the newly formed Huffington Post Media Group within AOL. She remained in that role until 2016, when she departed to launch her next venture.

Huffington founded Thrive Global in 2016, a company focused on reducing burnout and improving workplace well-being through corporate training, content, and commerce. Thrive Global has raised funding from investors including Greycroft and IVP. The company partners with major corporations to deliver its behavior-change programs.

Huffington was married to Michael Huffington, a Republican who served as a U.S. Representative from California from 1993 to 1995. The couple married in 1986 and divorced in 1997. Michael Huffington spent approximately $28 million of his own money on his unsuccessful 1994 U.S. Senate campaign against Dianne Feinstein.

Huffington has written over a dozen books, with the best-known being 'Thrive' (2014), which redefined success beyond money and power and became a New York Times bestseller, and 'The Sleep Revolution' (2016). Her earlier works include biographies of Maria Callas and Pablo Picasso published in the 1980s. 'Pigs at the Trough' (2003) was a political critique of corporate greed.
