help MacBook Air M1 (128GB) - Local Marketplace (Tested) FAQ
What should I test when buying a used MacBook Air M1 locally?
Test the screen, keyboard, trackpad, ports, speakers, camera, Wi-Fi, charging, and Touch ID if present. Also open System Information or macOS settings to confirm the model, storage, battery condition, and cycle count.
Is the MacBook Air M1 still useful for everyday work?
The M1 MacBook Air can handle common tasks such as web browsing, documents, video calls, and many coding workflows. The exact value of a local used unit depends on its condition, battery health, included charger, and asking price.
How can I check whether a local MacBook Air is activation locked?
Ask the seller to sign out of their Apple Account and erase the Mac in front of you. During setup, the computer should not request the previous owner's Apple Account, because that would indicate Activation Lock.
What makes this local marketplace listing lower risk than an untested purchase?
The listing is described as tested and intended for an in-person diagnostic check before payment. Meeting the seller lets you inspect the hardware and verify the serial, battery, display, and account status rather than relying only on photos.
