description Clinozoisite Overview
Clinozoisite is a calcium aluminium silicate hydroxide mineral in the epidote group. It is the monoclinic polymorph of zoisite, so it has the same chemical composition as zoisite but a different crystal structure. It forms mainly in metamorphic rocks and occurs in colors including green, yellow, grey, and pink. Transparent pieces are uncommon and may be faceted for collectors, but most clinozoisite is kept as a mineral specimen.
