Elric of Melniboné

To maintain his power and navigate the dangers of his world, Elric relies on Arioch, a chaotic supernatural entity. Arioch is a Duke of Chaos who demands heavy prices in exchange for his supernatural assistance.

Michael Moorcock's foundational high-fantasy novel was published in 1972. It serves as a prequel to the earlier Elric short stories, establishing the detailed origin of the Melnibonéan empire.
