Tony Bancroft is an American animator and film director who gained prominence working at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He served as a character animator on major films of the Disney Renaissance, including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, before co-directing Mulan alongside Barry Cook in 1998. Mulan was the studio's first animated feature to be primarily set in China, and Bancroft oversaw the animation of its martial arts sequences. He is the twin brother of animator Tom Bancroft, who designed the character Mushu.
