The Tri-Hot 5K combines a steel body with tungsten weighting in the sole and rear, achieving a moment of inertia (MOI) rating exceeding 5,000 g·cm² — a figure typically associated with large mallet putters rather than blades. This weighting pushes the center of gravity deeper and lower than a conventional blade, improving stability on off-center strikes.

The Tri-Hot 5K is designed as an oversized blade — it has the visual profile and hosel configuration of a traditional blade rather than the wide rear flange of a mallet. However, its multi-material tungsten construction gives it forgiveness numbers closer to a mallet, which is the core marketing proposition of the line.

The Tri-Hot 5K features Odyssey's White Hot Microhinge insert, which uses a thermoplastic elastomer face with micro-hinge structures designed to produce smooth forward roll. This insert technology has appeared across multiple Odyssey lines, including the O-Works and Stroke Lab series.
