Garmin Enduro

description Garmin Enduro Overview

The Garmin Enduro is a rugged GPS watch designed for extreme endurance athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. It incorporates solar charging to significantly extend battery life, offering up to 16 days in smartwatch mode or over 180 hours of UltraTrac tracking. This capability makes it ideal for navigation and activity monitoring during multi-day trail running, mountaineering, or other demanding activities in areas with limited access to power.

help Garmin Enduro FAQ

How does the Garmin Enduro's solar charging actually work?

The Garmin Enduro uses Garmin's Power Glass lens, which incorporates a transparent solar panel to harvest energy from sunlight. The harvested solar power is used to extend the battery life significantly, allowing the watch to theoretically run indefinitely in smartwatch mode under ideal conditions. It does not replace standard USB charging but drastically reduces the frequency of it.

How long does the battery actually last in GPS tracking mode on the Garmin Enduro?

In standard GPS mode, the Enduro can track continuously for up to 70 hours on a single charge, or up to 80 hours if assisted by solar charging. If you switch to UltraTrac mode (which polls GPS less frequently), it can extend up to 300 hours. This makes it one of the most capable watches on the market for ultra-marathoners.

Is the Garmin Enduro the same size as the Fenix 6 or Fenix 7?

The Enduro features a large 51mm case, making it identical in physical size to the largest versions of the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro and Fenix 7X. However, the Enduro utilizes lightweight materials like a titanium bezel and a nylon strap to keep the weight down to just 61 grams. It is designed specifically to not weigh down endurance athletes.

Does the Enduro have the same smartwatch features and mapping as a standard Fenix?

While it has topographical maps and basic smart notifications, the Enduro lacks some of the advanced everyday health features of the Fenix line, specifically an internal ECG sensor or a microphone for voice commands. It also lacks music storage, purposefully stripping out features to save battery life and focus entirely on outdoor performance.
