Sekisei Lagoon Reef is a large coral-reef system in the Yaeyama Islands of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, extending between Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island. It is recognized as Japan's largest coral-reef area and lies within Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. The lagoon contains more than 360 recorded coral species and supports diverse reef organisms, including reef fish, sea turtles, and manta rays. It is studied and managed as an important marine ecosystem.
