Commvault HyperScale X

Commvault HyperScale X is a scale-out appliance and software platform for data protection. It combines storage nodes with Commvault backup management so organizations can expand capacity and performance by adding nodes.

It is primarily designed for backup, recovery, and data-protection workloads rather than serving as a general-purpose primary storage array. It can protect workloads across on-premises and cloud environments through Commvault's broader platform.

It can be used as part of a ransomware-recovery design with protected backups, retention controls, and recovery testing. The outcome depends on how immutability, access controls, and isolated copies are configured.

HyperScale X should not be treated as a synchronous-replication product by default. Its main role is scale-out backup and recovery, while replication and orchestration depend on the selected Commvault features and surrounding architecture.
