help Epson WorkForce DS-780 FAQ
How fast is the Epson WorkForce DS-780 for high-volume scanning?
The DS-780 (sold in this series as the DS-780N) is rated at up to 45 pages per minute, or 90 images per minute in duplex mode. Epson also specifies a daily duty cycle of around 9,000 sheets, which is why it's marketed toward medical records and legal offices.
Does the Epson DS-780N support network scanning so multiple staff can share it?
Yes — the 'N' in DS-780N denotes built-in Ethernet in addition to USB, letting several workstations send jobs to the same scanner. It's managed through Epson's ScanSmart software for batch scanning and destination routing.
Will the DS-780 work with my EMR or document management software?
It supports standard TWAIN and ISIS drivers, so it integrates with most document management and records systems used in clinics and law firms. Epson's own ScanSmart application handles basic scan-to-cloud workflows like scanning directly to Dropbox or Google Drive.
How many sheets can the Epson DS-780's automatic document feeder hold?
The ADF holds up to 100 sheets, so a full stack of intake forms can run unattended. This feeder capacity is a step up from Epson's desktop models like the ES-580W, which is aimed at smaller offices.
