Marc Garneau is a Canadian former astronaut, engineer, naval officer, and Liberal politician. He became the first Canadian citizen to travel into space when he flew aboard NASA's Space Shuttle Challenger in 1984, and later completed two additional shuttle missions. Garneau represented the Quebec riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Westmount in the House of Commons and served as Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2021 to 2023.
