description Universal GamePad X Overview

This controller is the ultimate entry point for new users exploring third-party PS3 emulation. It offers a basic, functional wired connection and a layout that is immediately familiar to anyone who has used a PS3 controller. While it lacks the advanced features of the top-tier models, it provides enough reliable input to get you playing your favorite retro titles right away without breaking the bank.

help Universal GamePad X FAQ

Will Universal GamePad X work with RPCS3?

The listing promises a wired USB connection and a familiar PS3-style layout, but it does not confirm RPCS3's device profile, drivers, rumble, or pressure-sensitive inputs. Test it as a generic gamepad first and do not assume it behaves exactly like Sony's DualShock 3.

Is Universal GamePad X wireless like a PS3 controller?

No wireless feature is stated; the description specifically calls it wired. Bluetooth, battery, and motion-sensing support are not listed, so confirm those features before treating it as a wireless PS3 replacement.

Does it include Sixaxis motion control or pressure-sensitive triggers?

Nothing in the catalog description confirms Sixaxis motion sensing, pressure-sensitive face buttons, or analog L2 and R2 triggers. Those features matter for some PS3 titles, so ask for the controller protocol before buying.

Is it suitable for someone starting PS3 emulation?

It is positioned as an entry-level third-party emulation pad because it offers a familiar layout and simple wired connection. The tradeoff is that compatibility and advanced features are unverified, so it is better for basic input tests than for a feature-perfect PS3 setup.
