description ViewSonic VX2431-B Overview

This model offers a high refresh rate (165Hz) at a very accessible price point, making it a strong contender for budget gamers who want the speed boost. Being a VA panel, it offers better contrast than some budget IPS panels, which can be great for dark, moody games. It's a straightforward, performance-oriented choice that prioritizes Hz count over absolute color perfection, making it a solid budget workhorse.

help ViewSonic VX2431-B FAQ

Is ViewSonic VX2431-B the same monitor as the VX2418-P-MHD?

I could not verify the exact VX2431-B model code in ViewSonic's official product pages I found. The VX2418-P-MHD is a separate 24-inch gaming monitor, while the older VA2431w is another separate 23.6-inch model. Which ViewSonic model actually has a 165Hz refresh rate?

ViewSonic lists the VX2418-P-MHD with a 1,920 by 1,080 MVA panel and a refresh rate up to 165Hz. That specification should not be assigned to VX2431-B until the seller confirms the model number. What ports are on the verified ViewSonic VX2418-P-MHD?

The VX2418-P-MHD specification lists two HDMI 1.4 inputs and one DisplayPort 1.2 input. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium, which is relevant if the monitor is being used with a compatible Radeon graphics card. Will HDMI run the ViewSonic 165Hz model at its full refresh rate?

ViewSonic specifically identifies DisplayPort as the connection for the VX2418-P-MHD's 165Hz mode. Do not assume that an HDMI cable will deliver 165Hz until the exact model's manual confirms the supported HDMI timing.
