description 102 Miriam Overview
102 Miriam is a dark main-belt asteroid discovered by Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters at the Litchfield Observatory on 22 August 1868. It is classified as a C-type body in the SMASS system and has an estimated diameter of roughly 83 kilometers. Peters named it after Miriam, the biblical prophetess and sister of Moses and Aaron. The asteroid takes about 4.34 years to orbit the Sun and rotates in about 23.6 hours.
