13 Hours is a 2016 American biographical action-thriller film directed by Michael Bay. It dramatizes the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, from the viewpoint of six former military operators assigned to protect a nearby CIA facility and drawn into the defense of the U.S. diplomatic compound. The screenplay is based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s nonfiction book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi.
