description Abraliopsis hoylei Overview
Abraliopsis hoylei, commonly called Hoyle's enope squid, is a small oceanic squid in the family Enoploteuthidae. It has a recorded maximum mantle length of about 30 millimetres and is distributed through tropical and subtropical Indo-West Pacific waters, including the Indian Ocean and the Mascarene Islands. It is associated with the mesopelagic zone and is thought to migrate toward shallower epipelagic water at night, using photophores as part of its light-producing anatomy.
