Acanthocidaris maculicollis

description Acanthocidaris maculicollis Overview

Acanthocidaris maculicollis is an extant cidaroid sea urchin from the Indo-Pacific. De Meijere named the species in 1904 from material collected in the Sunda Islands, and the recorded collection depth was between 69 and 94 metres. The species is consequently associated with deeper shallow-marine habitats rather than intertidal settings and is of interest in echinoderm taxonomy.
