All Fours

description All Fours Overview

All Fours is an English trick-taking card game whose earliest known description appears in Charles Cotton’s Compleat Gamester, published in 1674. The classic game uses a standard fifty-two-card deck, a trump suit, and four scoring categories known as high, low, jack, and game. It originated as a two-player game in England and later developed related forms in North America, the Caribbean, and other parts of the English-speaking world.
