Alsike Clover

description Alsike Clover Overview

Alsike clover is the common name for Trifolium hybridum, a perennial legume native to Europe. It was introduced to North America as a forage plant and has since become naturalized in meadows, roadsides, pastures, and other disturbed habitats. The plant produces rounded heads of pale pink to whitish flowers and is valued by farmers because it can fix atmospheric nitrogen through its association with soil bacteria.
