Amdrup Fjord

description Amdrup Fjord Overview

Amdrup Fjord is a fjord in eastern Greenland named after Georg Carl Amdrup, a Danish naval officer and polar explorer. Amdrup led the Carlsberg Expedition to the coast of Greenland from 1898 to 1900, and the expedition’s geographical work contributed to the mapping and naming of features in the region. The fjord is therefore associated with the history of Arctic exploration as well as with Greenland’s deeply indented eastern coastline.
