Andree Richard

Andree Richard was a German geographer who lived from 1835 to 1912. He is known for editing Andrees Allgemeiner Handatlas.

The first edition appeared in 1881. It became recognized as one of Germany's leading general reference atlases.

It was a general reference atlas covering geographic information for a broad readership. Its role was similar to that of a major national household and educational reference work, rather than a specialized nautical chart collection.

His editorial work on Andrees Allgemeiner Handatlas helped establish a widely recognized German atlas title. The atlas connected detailed cartographic production with general geographic reference publishing in the late nineteenth century.
