Androctonus mauritanicus is a scorpion in the family Buthidae native to Morocco and neighboring parts of northwestern Africa. Like other members of the fat-tailed scorpion genus Androctonus, it has a powerful metasoma and medically significant venom capable of causing severe envenomation. It occupies dry habitats and may occur near human settlements, making accurate identification and prompt medical attention important after a suspected sting.
