description Androctonus sergenti Overview
Androctonus sergenti is a Moroccan species of fat-tailed scorpion in the genus Androctonus and the family Buthidae. Vachon described it in 1948, and later taxonomic treatments have retained the name as a distinct species. It belongs to the Maghreb fauna and is relevant to identification of North African scorpions, where species-level classification is important because several Androctonus species are venomous.
