description Aquathlon Overview
Aquathlon is the name used by the World Underwater Federation, CMAS, for a competitive form of underwater wrestling. Competitors face one another while holding their breath and attempting to remove an opponent’s ribbon or otherwise complete the required action under the sport’s rules. Matches are held in a swimming pool, with the contest area marked as a five-metre square. The recognized format uses three rounds of 30 seconds.
