Axis is a 2007 science fiction novel by Robert Charles Wilson and the second book in the Spin trilogy. It takes place on the altered Earth created by the disappearance of the stars in Spin and follows new characters as humanity continues to investigate the entities known as the Hypotheticals. The novel expands the series' treatment of first contact, planetary change, and long-term human adaptation, and is intended for readers who enjoy conceptual and character-based science fiction.
