description Ballycopeland Windmill Overview

Ballycopeland Windmill is a restored tower windmill near Millisle in County Down, Northern Ireland. Built in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century, it operated as a grain mill until the First World War and later fell into disrepair. Restoration carried out between 1950 and 1978 returned the machinery to working order, and the site now includes a visitor centre in the former miller's house.
