Banas

description Banas Overview

The Banas is a river of Rajasthan, India, that flows entirely within the state before joining the Chambal River near Rameshwar in Sawai Madhopur district. It rises in the Aravalli region and runs northeast through parts of Mewar and Hadoti. The river is significant for regional water management because the Bisalpur Dam and reservoir were built across it, and the Bisalpur-Jaipur project supplies drinking water to Jaipur. It is relevant to the geography, hydrology, and infrastructure of Rajasthan.
