Barbara Reskin is an American sociologist whose research focuses on occupational segregation, discrimination, gender, and workplace inequality. With Patricia Roos, she wrote Job Queues, Gender Queues, a 1990 study explaining how employers rank workers and how workers rank jobs, producing patterned changes in the gender composition of occupations. Her work is used to analyze how organizational practices sustain unequal access to employment and advancement.
