Barbour Bedale Wax Jacket

The Barbour Bedale is made from durable waxed cotton and features a signature corduroy collar and a classic check cotton lining. It also includes practical elements like a two-way zip with a studded storm flap and two bellows pockets.

The jacket must never be dry cleaned or washed in a washing machine, as harsh chemicals will destroy the protective wax coating. Instead, it should be spot-cleaned with cold water and periodically re-waxed using Barbour's Thornproof Dressing to maintain its water resistance.

The Bedale features a two-way zip because it was originally designed by J. Barbour and Sons as a functional equestrian riding jacket. The bottom of the zipper can be opened up to allow the jacket to flare comfortably over a horse saddle.

While the classic Bedale was originally designed as a men's jacket, its shorter, tailored cut makes it highly popular across all genders. J. Barbour and Sons now produces specific women's versions, though many still wear the standard traditional menswear sizing.
