Battleship Classic Game

Battleship is recommended for ages 7 and up, as it requires reading coordinates (such as B-7 or E-3) and thinking strategically about grid positions. The game is widely used as an educational tool for teaching basic coordinate systems and spatial reasoning.

The classic version of Battleship is designed for exactly two players, each commanding their own hidden fleet on opposite sides of the board. While electronic and variant editions exist with different player counts, the traditional tabletop game remains strictly a head-to-head experience.

Each player commands five ships: the Carrier (5 holes), Battleship (4 holes), Cruiser (3 holes), Submarine (3 holes), and Destroyer (2 holes). Ships must be placed on the grid either horizontally or vertically and cannot overlap.

A typical game of classic Battleship takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes depending on the players' strategy and experience. Games tend to end more quickly when players use systematic grid-search patterns rather than random guessing.
